Recap: SNS at the launch of OTW by Vans in LA

To kick off LA Art Week and celebrate the release of OTW by Vans' collaboration with Sterling Ruby’s S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA., the duo held a special event in Downtown Los Angeles, which merged skateboarding, design and art for one night only to celebrate the communities that push the culture forward.

While offering an in-depth look at the collab between OTW by Vans and Sterling Ruby, which sees several iconic models merge to create a brand-new silhouette titled “Clash the Wall,” this event featured a skateable installation designed by PLAYLAB, INC., in collaboration with Sterling Ruby that was unique and intricate enough to deserve its very own spot in a museum. The event was also blessed with musical performances by SALEM and Paris Texas, a DJ set by Ty, and a live skate exhibition by Vans skate team members.

Our very own co-founder Peter Jansson and creative director Johan Undén headed out to LA to experience this unmissable event and the unveiling of OTW by Vans, which has been created to push the boundaries of product design and brand experiences with innovators from skateboarding, art, fashion, design, and entertainment.
